Maureen Egan, president of the Friends of the James River Park and an accomplished writer, wrote an excellent poem about the JRPS to the tune of Charles Dickens’ “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” It’s not all about the license plate drive and has plenty of humor throughout. Check out the rest on her blog.
‘Twas the week before Christmas when all through the park, all the creatures were stirring; they like it in the dark. The applications were set in the mailbox with care in hopes that a James River Park license plate soon would be there.
My take? Merry Christmas to all, and fun on the river is a rite!
